FAQ — About Korsi

What is Korsi?

Korsi is a cultural and community collective based in Cologne that brings people together through art, music, and shared experiences. Inspired by the traditional “korsi” — a table for gathering, warmth, and storytelling — we create events that celebrate connection, creativity, and care.

We host a wide range of events, including live music, DJ nights, talks, screenings, and community gatherings. Each event blends cultural expression with a sense of belonging — from intimate hangouts to larger nights of dance, sound, and conversation.

Korsi is run by a multidisciplinary core team of artists, organizers, and cultural workers. At the moment, the core team consists of Morteza, Iman, Setareh, and Salma.
We collaborate closely with other collectives, venues, and initiatives across Cologne and beyond.

No. While Korsi draws inspiration from SWANA (South West Asia and North Africa) cultures, our gatherings are open to everyone. We focus on creating spaces that are inclusive, respectful, and rooted in shared curiosity rather than identity.

We love when people get involved! You can volunteer at events, join our awareness or bar teams, or support with media and logistics. Keep an eye on our events and Instagram — we often post open calls for volunteers there.

Our events pop up in different venues across Cologne — from bars and cultural spaces to music halls and gardens. We often collaborate with local spaces like OYA, Kulturbunker, and Villa Kalka.

Most of our events are donation-based or offer sliding-scale entry. All proceeds go directly to supporting the artists and maintaining our collective work.

Follow us on Instagram at @korsi.online — that’s where we post updates, announcements, and behind-the-scenes stories. You can also check our website’s Events page for upcoming dates.

We’re always open to discovering new artists, musicians, and storytellers. If you’d like to share your work or collaborate, reach out through our website or message us on Instagram. Tell us about your project — we read every message.

Each Korsi event has Two or more Persons who are responsible for ‘Community Care’ — people you can approach at any time if something doesn’t feel right. They’re there to listen, support, and help resolve situations with care. We don’t tolerate harassment, discrimination, or aggression of any kind.

We often document our events through photos, videos, and sound to share the atmosphere of Korsi. If you find any image, video, or post that includes you and you’d prefer it not to be used, you can easily report it through our “Report Content” form — available in the footer menu or directly at korsi.online/report-content. We’ll review your message quickly and make sure it’s handled with care and respect. Your comfort and consent always come first.
