Sara Hasti was born in Iran in 1996 and discovered the kamancheh at the age of eleven. After studying Iranian music (B.A.) and ethnomusicology (M.A.) in Tehran, she continued her work in Germany through applied musicology and music education.

She works in early music education and develops music mediation projects, while also performing internationally. Her appearances include Weltklang (2023), Young Euro Classic (2024), the Staatsorchester Stuttgart, and, in 2025, Kultursommer Wien and the Ruhrfestspiele.

She has contributed to albums including “The Spirit Afar” and “In the Blaze of Songs” and received the 2024 DAAD Prize for international students.
