Ahmed Eid in Conversation with Korsi – Tales of Resistance

During his visit to Cologne for the Tales of Resistance tour, Palestinian artist Ahmed Eid spoke with Korsi about music, memory, and the power of resilience. About the Conversation

During his visit to Cologne as part of the Tales of Resistance tour, Palestinian artist Ahmed Eid sat down with Korsi for an intimate conversation about music, resistance, and the work of the Palestine Music Space in Ramallah.

Speaking between rehearsal and performance, Ahmed reflected on what it means to create art under occupation and to live between worlds – between Palestine and Germany, individual and collective memory, pain and hope.

On Resistance and Expression

“I call this tour Tales of Resistance because the music I’m playing carries two experiences,” Ahmed explains. “One is my own – a Palestinian musician living between Palestine and Germany. The other is the collective experience of Palestinians who have lived under these conditions for generations. The music tells both stories.”

He describes resistance not only as defiance, but as resilience – the insistence on continuing to create, to love, and to remember. His songs move between themes of freedom, equality, pain, and endurance: from an elegy for a father who lost his children in Gaza to a love story emerging from the same landscape.

On the Palestine Music Space

Ahmed founded the Palestine Music Space in Ramallah as a community studio, a place where young artists can record, learn, and gather.

“It’s not just about playing in bands,” he says. “It’s about creating a community – a space where people can live reality through a different perspective. It helps us remember who we are, document our reality, and keep our identity alive.”

For him, the project is both cultural and political work – preserving Palestinian musical heritage while nurturing new voices and possibilities.

On Collective Memory

Ahmed speaks of art as a form of continuity:

“The identity of Palestinians has been under attack for decades – our food, our language, our music. Creating spaces like this is a way to remind ourselves who we are and to pass it on to future generations. It’s how we preserve identity and evolve it into something beautiful.”

Closing Words

Through Tales of Resistance, Ahmed Eid transforms pain into movement and remembrance into song. His voice bridges two worlds – one rooted in Palestine’s struggle for freedom, and another seeking connection through sound and community.
