Merdan Zirav is a bass player whose work contributes to ensemble settings rooted in Kurdish and Armenian musical traditions. As part of MaZeli Quartett, he helps shape a sound that balances rhythmic grounding, melodic sensitivity, and collective interpretation. Within Korsi’s Newroz program, Zirav performed alongside Nure Dilovani, Nurullah Turgut, and Zelal, contributing to a musical reinterpretation of deeply rooted regional sounds.
His bass playing forms part of the ensemble’s bridge between heritage and contemporary arrangement. His work within Korsi’s context supports a listening space where musical memory becomes present, embodied, and shared.
