Cheshmak (also known as cheshmak.mp3) is an Iranian experimental music group that fuses cabaret, maqam, psychedelic rock, and spiritual jazz into a sound both nostalgic and radically new. The trio — Aref Mirbaghi (bass), Kaveh Ghaffari (accordion), and Farhad Asadi (drums) — draws from diverse traditions of performance and improvisation to craft a vivid, cinematic atmosphere where East and West meet on equal terms.

Their debut release, the CHESHMAK EP, showcases this fusion with hypnotic grooves, poetic textures, and theatrical flair. Beyond studio work, Cheshmak performs live and leads workshops that open windows into Iran’s independent music scene and its evolving creative movements.
