Lilit Tonoyan is an Armenian violinist in whose work two musical cultures merge in a distinctive way. She completed her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with a Master of Music in violin, chamber music, and baroque violin.
For many years, she has brought the traditional music of her homeland to wider audiences in diverse formats and ensembles. Her solo debut CD “Amen Hayr Surb,” featuring Armenian sacred music and works by Johann Sebastian Bach, was released in 2018 on the Kaleidos label.
In 2024, she followed with the album “KRUNK – Armenian Secular Music,” presenting secular Armenian music in her own arrangements. Both recordings have received multiple distinctions from the specialist press and reflect Tonoyan’s sensitive interpretation and deep musical connection to Armenian culture.
